Sisters at Law’s founder Marini De Livera received the International Women of Courage award by the U.S. Department of State. She was one of ten laureates to receive the prestigious honour in this year’s ceremony.
The award serves as an eminent recognition of Marini De Livera’s relentless and ambitious efforts to fight child abuse and protect the rights of women.
During her trip to the USA, she had the opportunity to visit several organisations which share her passion for child protection, girls’ education and family support. Her insights will serve as an inspiration for Sisters at Law’s future projects.
It’s a magical experience because as a human rights defender you’re not used to being appreciated.
