For the International Women’s Day 2024, Sisters at Law ran a programme for marginalised woman living in Colombo District. The programme was titled “Kāntha Diriya” which is Sinhala and translates to “Courageous Women”. We partnered with the the Divisional Secretariat of the area (Kolonnawa) and collaborated with its Women Development Officers. During the day, the women participated in creative activities and drama performances to learn about the laws which can protect them from violence. The programme was a success and we in the process of carrying out a follow-up to support the women of Kolonnawa.
