Instead of flowers and chocolates, we celebrated International Women’s Day 2023 with true female empowerment! We invited 5 ladies from a small rural village in Mannar to our Surakshi Training Centre to help them become future teachers. During this 2-day training the women were supported in their ambition to become English teachers.
This training was delivered as part of our income generation initiative. The women did not only gain teaching skills, but were also prepared for self-employment. As independent teachers they will be able to generate a steady income, while empowering the next generation and their community through education. We are excited to see what the future holds for their exciting careers and wish them all the best on their teaching journey!
